The end of January means it’s time to tube down main street.

There’s a reason Bracebridge, Ontario is called ‘the heart of Muskoka’ and it’s not only because of its central location in this popular travel district. Here, in the picturesque town that’s built around the meandering Muskoka River, you’ll find a heartfelt welcome in every season, and never more so than at the event that brings folks together for fantastic winter merriment.

fire-and-ice-2Taking place on Saturday, January 28 in downtown Bracebridge, the second annual Fire & Ice Festival is a day-long celebration that features non-stop, innovative fun. From 9am until 9pm, the event is packed with things to do, places to eat and live entertainment that will leave you thinking winter might just be the best season of all.

The highlight of the event is a massive double tube run that extends down the length of Bracebridge’s historic main street.

Bracebridge also has a stunning Winter Village in the centre of town. Bring your skates and glide around the Memorial Park loops, and experience a true Canadian outdoor rink – one that will take your breath away (especially at night under the lights).
